1. "F. BROWN / DRUGGIST / COR. CHEST & 5TH ST / PHILADA", American, ca. 1840 - 1860, emerald green, 7 1/2"h, open pontil, applied tapered collar mouth. Two in-making pontil cracks, each about 3/4" in length extend from either side of the pontil, a common occurrence on bottles having as deep a kick-up as this bottle has. Its brilliant green, highly whittled glass and form makes it one of the most eye appealing bottles in the auction. Frederick Brown owned a drug and chemical store at the northeast corner of 5th and Chestnut Streets in Philadelphia. He was best known for his F. Brown’s Essence of Jamaica Ginger. To our knowledge this gorgeous bottle is unique!33 $ 6,000
