1. This is a Live and Mail Bid Absentee Auction. Absentee Bids will be
accepted until Thursday, March 11 at 5pm PDT. The Live Auction will be held at
the WESTS Token Jamboree at the Red Lion Hotel ~ 1401 Arden Way, Sacramento, CA
95815 on Friday, March 12, 2010 starting at 4pm PDT. Material for the sale may
be previewed at the Long Beach Coin, Stamp and Collectible show on February 4-6
at the Holabird Table #1058 or prior to the Auction located at the Red Lion
Hotel on March 12, 2010. This catalog is also available for viewing online at www.holabirdamericana.com in full color.
2. Absentee Bidding. You may bid on items in the sale in the regular manner by mail, email, online interactive bidding, fax or phone. If you do not already have a permanent bidder number, you will receive a bidder number after registering. Absentee bids accepted as outlined in line item #1 above. After that time, only live bids from the floor or pre-arranged telephone calls during the live auction will be accepted. It is your responsibility to get absentee bids in early so we receive them by the dates outlined in line item #1 above. It is your responsibility to submit all lot numbers and bid amounts accurately. Absentee bids should be equal to at least 50% of the low estimate if an estimate is provided. At the auctioneer.s discretion, many lots will start at some minimal amount. It is your responsibility to call us to make sure that we received your bids.
4. Telephone Bidding. Telephone bidding requests MUST be scheduled prior to this auction. If you do not schedule in advance, and choose instead to call on the day of the auction to request a line for bidding, you may find that we are unable to accommodate your request. Please limit your telephone bids to items of value greater than $200, or a string of items with a similar total.
5. Internet Bidding. The internet bidding process is easily accessible online, and is available prior to the live auction event. The internet program will be running during the live sale, whereby those who wish to watch the progress, rather than attend the auction may do so, though bidding during the sale is restricted to your live presence at the sale or phone bidding. It is highly recommended that you register prior to the auction either online or through a Holabird-Kagin Americana representative.
6. Agent Bidding. There are numerous professional agents available to assist you should you require this service. Please contact the office for a list or to arrange for representation on the floor during the live auction.
7. Bid Reduction. All winning absentee bids will be reduced to the next bidding increment in the usual manner, unless the bid is below 50% of the low estimate. For example, if you submit an absentee bid of $1000 on a lot estimated at $200, and the next highest bid is $250, then you will win the lot for $275.
8. Bid Increments. Absentee bids must be submitted in the appropriate increments as outlined below. IF you choose to submit bids in an increment not listed below, your bid will be rounded either up or down to the nearest increment and you will be expected to pay the amount to which the bid was rounded should your bid be the winning bid. If you have any questions about an appropriate bid amount, please call us.

9. Reserves. Most of the lots in this sale are unreserved.
10. Bid Information. Collectors often ask in advance the price level of a particular lot. We will give out the current high absentee bid until we close on Thursday March 11th, 2010 at 5 PM PST. You may also view absentee bids online at www.holabirdamericana.com. If you missed our bidding deadline, you may ask if you can still submit bids without bidder information, or you may participate in live bidding during the auction by bids phoned or faxed in before the auction.
11. Bid Cancellation. If you wish to cancel a bid after you have submitted your bids to us. You MUST PHONE us to advise us of this. Bid cancellations through mail, email or fax are not advisable. Errors are easy to make and we are happy to assist all callers.
12. Buyers Premium. There will be a 17.5% buyer.s premium added to each lot.
13. Return Policy. You may return any piece that was significantly inaccurately described within one week of receipt of item(s). We do not refund postage or insurance. We have attempted to describe condition accurately. If no condition is given, assume average. When we receive your bids we will assume you have read the description in the catalog and have contacted us regarding any questions you may have on any lot. Please call us if you require a more specific condition report.
14. Payment, Sales Tax & Lot Pick Up. Payment is due in full within 15 days of receipt of invoice. Payment can be made to Holabird-Kagin Americana, 3555 Airway Dr., #308, Reno, NV 89511. We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, etc. There is a 3% cash discount on all sales, which will be added back into the sale price if a credit card is used. We accept Master Card and VISA only. All returned checks are subject to a $25 fee. Lot pick up will be available following the auction, as time allows, or items will be shipped from our Reno office once payment has been received. Invoices are mailed or emailed within two business days after the sale. Sacramento County California sales tax of 8.75% will be added to all on-site sales. California sales tax of 9% will be added to all purchases that we ship to California. Nevada Sales tax of 7.725% will be added to all Nevada residents. Sales tax will be added unless a resale certificate is provided.
15. Shipping. We do not ship any purchases until we receive payment in full. If you choose not to pick up your lot in person you will assume all shipping and handling fees that apply to your purchase. An invoice will be sent to you as soon as auction results have been processed. Upon payment of the invoice, your package will be sent to you. In some circumstances, we MAY approve shipment of purchases with an invoice, but this must be arranged well in advance of the sale and will be based on client history with our company, approval of the consignor(s), and credit references furnished by the buyer. We retain the right to deny this request for any reason. All purchases will be shipped upon payment of the total amount due on the invoice, via our approved, insured carriers, Federal Express or the US Postal Service. All applicable shipping and handling charges will be added to your purchase amount and included on your invoice. Some shipments may require special handling, for which individual costs will be calculated.
16. Results. Please do not contact our office until at least four business days after the auction closes to request results. Results are also available free online almost immediately. To request a printed version, please contact the office.
17. Preview. Lots will be available to preview at the Long Beach Coin, Stamp and Collectible Show, February 4-6, 2010 ~ Holabird Table #1058. Preview will also be available Friday March 12, at the Red Lion prior to the auction.
